From Colombia, the all-male collective Piso 21 specializes in romantic Latin pop that weaves in R&B textures and dancefloor energy. Their self-titled debut LP arrived in 2012 and earned immediate notice, securing a nomination for Best New Artist at the Latin Grammy Awards. Ubuntu, issued in 2018, climbed into the Top 20 on the Latin charts, while the 2021 release El Amor en los Tiempos del Perreo yielded the Top Five Latin single “Más de la Una” featuring Maluma. Further prominent team-ups shaped 2022’s 777, after which the band issued Los Muchachos in 2023 and the Billboard Latin Pop Albums-charting 2.1, which landed in the Top Ten in 2024.

Medellín natives Piso 21 comprise vocalist Pablo Mejía (aka Pablito), vocalist/guitarist Juan David Huertas (aka the Profe), vocalist/guitarist David Escobar (aka Dim), and vocalist Juan David Castaño (aka the LLane). The 2012 full-length Piso 21 included the track “Correr el Riesgo,” and the ensuing visibility brought a Best New Artist nod at the 2012 Latin Grammy Awards. Subsequent releases encompassed 2014’s “Suele Suceder” and 2015’s “Quítate la Pena.” The group joined Warner Music Mexico in 2016, and two years later Ubuntu appeared, propelled by “Me Llamas” and “Besándote”; the set entered the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart at number 13.

A 2019 collaboration with Myke Towers produced “Una Vida Para Recordar,” followed in 2020 by “Dulcecitos” alongside Zion & Lennox and the Maluma-assisted “Más de la Una,” which peaked at number three on the Latin Pop charts. All three cuts appeared on El Amor en los Tiempos del Perreo, the band’s third album, which reached number nine on Billboard’s Latin Pop chart. Later singles such as “Equivocado” with Santa Fe Klan and “Los Cachos” with Manuel Turizo preceded the fourth album, 777, released in 2022; that project also featured Carin Leon, Danny Ocean, Gigolo y la Exce, and Ñejo.

Los Muchachos, the fifth album, surfaced in November 2023 and spotlighted “Sinceramente” together with the Manuel Turizo duet “Los Cachos,” the latter rising to the Top Five on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart. In October the band returned with 2.1, anchored by “Fichaje del Año” featuring Ozuna and “La Misión” featuring Wisin. The record illustrated a refined fusion of reggaeton, R&B, and pop, ultimately peaking at number eight on the Billboard Latin Pop Albums chart.
