Spanish house music DJ Juan Magán maintains a broad global audience while enjoying steady success crafting club anthems including “Bora Bora,” “Verano Azul,” and “Mariah.” Operating out of Barcelona, he launched his studio work alongside producers César del Rio and his brother Victor Magán, issuing solo efforts from time to time. His first notable traction developed through a partnership with Marcos Rodriguez. Performing as Magán & Rodriguez, the pair delivered the 2008 album Suave, which yielded the club favorite “Suck My,” a Top Five entry on the Spanish singles chart, and “Bora Bora,” which climbed to Top 20 on the same listing. After parting ways with Rodriguez, Magán scored another Top Five Spanish hit the following year with “Verano Azul.” He then placed the 2009 single “Mariah” on the We Love Asere! label, where it also registered on the Spanish charts.

A steady stream of releases followed over the ensuing two years, among them the Pitbull-assisted “Bailando por el Mundo,” which topped the Billboard Latin Singles chart. In 2012 Magán issued his first full-length project, The King of Dance, earning a Latin Grammy nomination and landing at number five on the Spanish album chart. That year further brought numerous singles, such as a remix of the late Tejano artist Selena’s “Is It the Beat?” and a track with Puerto Rican singer and actor Don Omar. By 2015 he had collaborated with VASSY and Enrique Iglesias, established consistent presence on South American charts, and unveiled his second album, The King Is Back: #LatinIBIZAte. Magán maintained an active touring and DJ schedule throughout 2016 while releasing the EP Quiero Que Sepas and several singles, among them “Love Me,” recorded with Mexican pop act Urband5 and British singer/songwriter Tara MacDonald. In 2017 he teamed with BnK for “Rápido, Brusco, Violento.” More than half a dozen additional singles appeared into 2018, highlighted by the Spanish Top Ten tracks “Dejate Llevar,” “Usted,” and “Ni la Hora.”
