Biography
Hailing from Obbola, where she first saw the light of day in 1975, Lisa Miskovsky stands among the most commercially dominant Swedish singer-songwriters of the 2000s. Before stepping forward as a solo performer, she supplied material to acts such as the Backstreet Boys. Her breakthrough arrived with the self-titled debut album issued in 2001, an outing that secured two Swedish Rock Bear Awards for Best Newcomer and Best Female Artist. In 2003 the Joakim Berg-produced Fallingwater brought her the Swedish Grammy for Best Female Artist and ascended to the top of the Swedish album charts. The album’s key cut, “Lady Stardust,” subsequently enjoyed extensive European radio exposure. Changes followed as her third album in 2006, and the next year she contributed guest vocals to “Dead End,” a recording by the Swedish death metal outfit In Flames. Miskovsky has also represented the Swedish national snowboard team and released the book How Dare You Lisa?, written to encourage young readers.
