Biography
Five Mexican musicians who had relocated to the United States launched Los Razos after earlier performing as los Halcones de Michuacan. The ensemble assumed the title Los Razos de Sacramento y Reynaldo ahead of issuing its debut album in 1985. Frontman Sacramento Ramírez, born in La Piedad, Michuacán and a North American arrival since 1980, steered the project. Accordionist Reynaldo Sanabria joined him in 1990, after which drummer Salvador Guillén, singer Marcos González, and bassist Baltazar Pineda rounded out the roster. Public support and admiration have followed Los Razos. Their ascent traced to provocative narcocorridos later barred from airplay in Mexico. The group took the name Los Razos de Sacramento in tribute to Sara Razo, whose assistance opened doors for them within the regional Mexican circuit in the U.S. Across more than twenty releases, the band has secured gold and platinum certifications on multiple occasions, while its recordings and videos have regularly appeared on charts. Mis Numero 1...Pa La Raza entered the lower reaches of the Mexican Regional listings.
