Malory

Hailing from Germany, Malory first captivated audiences upon unveiling their intricate and daring strain of opulent rock. Their opening release, Not Here, Not Now, appeared in 2000. Issued initially across Europe before Clairecords brought it out in the States, the record drew worldwide admiration for its guitar textures and showmanship shaped by Slowdive and My Bloody Valentine. The follow-up, Outerbeats, surfaced in 2001 via Alison Records and Solar3d Records on home soil along with Clairecords domestically and included an extra track. On that second album the group continued pushing boundaries by layering additional effects and samples. Vocalists Jordis Marschner and Joerg Kohler delivered striking performances across Outerbeats, helping Malory distinguish themselves within the alt rock scene. Early 2002 then brought the single Wake Up.
