Marnz Malone

Emerging from behind bars, Marnz Malone first drew widespread attention across the U.K. rap landscape through raw freestyles recorded during his imprisonment. His opening mixtape, Trenchfoot, surfaced in 2022, with the follow-up project Maktub arriving the next year. The subsequent release, Tina’s Boy, climbed into the Top 100 of the U.K. album charts.

Born in Jamaica and raised in Birmingham, the rapper initially built recognition under the name Double D by delivering gritty freestyles from inside prison. After a 2021 conviction for firearms offences that brought an eleven-year sentence, he issued Trenchfoot in 2022 while still using that alias. With the arrival of Maktub in 2023, he set the earlier moniker aside, revealing personal growth and artistic development amid continued incarceration. One year later Tina’s Boy appeared, featuring a collaboration with Potter Payper and marking Malone’s first U.K. Top 100 album entry.
