Biography
Formed as a classical crossover vocal duo, Marshall & Alexander both originated in Germany and first encountered each other at an opera performance in 1998. Baritone Mark Marshall, born July 28, 1963, in Baden-Baden as the son of pop star Tony Marshall, entered the music industry at an early age through repeated childhood appearances. He later committed his professional life to classical music, and his meeting with tenor Jay Alexander, born August 1, 1971, in Pforzheim, supplied the ideal creative partnership. Their first recording appeared soon after the duo assembled, after which more than ten albums and a handful of DVDs have followed since 1998. Commercial impact came with the 2007 album Götterfunken, which climbed to number 26 on the German charts.
