Biography
Born in Cleveland, pop singer Megan McCauley launched her stage career while still a child. A recording contract secured during her early teens yielded the self-titled EP that arrived in 2005. Her material soon surfaced on television and in motion pictures, yet 2007 brought a different spotlight when she joined the daytime program Dr. Phil to examine her fraught dynamic with her mother, whom she portrayed as an abusive stage mom. McCauley likewise recounted her reported battles with substance misuse, events that directly shaped her debut full-length album Better Than Blood. Issued by Wind-Up Records that same year, the record spotlighted the single "Tap That."
