Mickaël Miro channels the essence of classic French chanson through understated acoustic stories centered on romance, his soft and soothing delivery stepping in to address the decade-long gap since Jean-Jacques Goldman's last work. Lyon native Miro entered the world in 1979 and adopted his late grandfather’s surname in tribute; a business-law graduate of the local university, he initially envisioned no professional path in music yet relocated to Paris and began performing in its jazz venues. Drawing from Francis Cabrel and Michel Berger, he began composing original material and lent his voice in 2007 to Les Marguerites Contre Alzheimer's track “J’y Etais Pas.” A Mercury Records contract followed, leading to support slots on European tours by Justin Nozuka and Zazie; his first album, Juste Comme Ça, appeared in 2011 and included the hit “L’Horloge Tourne” plus its title song, a duet with Francophone singer/songwriter Natasha St-Pier.
