Biography
Mobina Galore, a Canadian duo, unleashes aggressively charged power punk that echoes Against Me! and fellow countrymen Propaghandi. Their high-voltage punk sound first attracted listeners through the 2014 debut album Cities Away.
Jenna Priestner on guitar and vocals joined forces with Marcia Hanson on drums and vocals to launch the project in Winnipeg, Manitoba, during 2011. They fused their affinity for angsty punk with a steadfast DIY ethos, rapidly becoming staples of the underground Canadian punk circuit. The pair issued their debut EP Skeletons independently in 2012. Two years later, Cities Away arrived after being tracked at Private Ear Studios—a facility previously used by Comeback Kid and Propaghandi—alongside engineer John Paul Peters. Extensive touring followed across Canada and the United States, leading to a deal with Gunner Records for Europe and New Damage for the U.S.
The Singles & B-sides EP surfaced near the end of 2016, while the sophomore album Feeling Disconnected appeared at the start of 2017. The duo traveled to Europe and the U.K. for shows supporting Against Me! as well as numerous headline dates, then closed out the year opening for Off with Their Heads. Mid-2019 brought the first taste of their third record in the form of the single “Escape Plan.” This raucous punk number, which had begun as an acoustic jam, previewed the tone of the Don’t Worry LP issued several months afterward.
