Biography
Hailing from New Jersey, Mutiny Within fuses a deep-rooted enthusiasm for music with fierce ambition, mining every region of the metal landscape to shape an energetic style anchored in meticulous songcraft. The project originated in 2002 when bassist Andrew “AJ” Jacobs launched it as a Children of Bodom cover act. Repeated roster adjustments preceded the arrival of a stable configuration. Seeking musicians who shared his intensity, Jacobs enlisted his brother Brandon Jacobs on guitar, regional drummer Bill Fore, and keyboardist Drew Stavola. The search for a vocalist required looking well beyond local circles, extending across the Atlantic to England and locating singer Chris Clancy through a YouTube clip. Clancy accepted the risk, relocating to the United States and devoting himself entirely to the band. Guitarist Dan Bage completed the roster after Clancy asked him to lay down solos during studio sessions; impressed by Bage’s ability, the group welcomed the fellow Englishman, who joined his former schoolmate on the overseas venture. The collective persistence paid off in 2010 when the self-titled debut appeared on Roadrunner Records.
