Biography
Two pairs of brothers from Leicester, U.K., launched My Awesome Compilation after taking inspiration from Sunny Day Real Estate, the Smiths, Spy Vs. Spy, and Pedro the Lion. Chris Driver handled guitar and vocals, Andy Driver played drums, Darius Cobb covered bass and vocals, and Woody Cobb performed on keyboards. The quartet logged two years of live shows before issuing the “mini album” The View Is Amazing in 2004 on Scorepoint/Bravestar Records. Once a sold-out U.K. tour wrapped in 2005, they entered the studio with producer Larry Hibbitt of Hundred Reasons to cut their debut full-length album, Actions. Three singles from that record earned spins on Radio 1, MTV2, Kerrang TV, and Scuzz. The following year the band maintained a steady schedule of headline dates and festival slots, sharing bills with Fall Out Boy, Reggie and the Full Effect, Alkaline Trio, and Funeral for a Friend at Download, Summer Sundae, Truck, and Pukklepop. In 2008 they reunited with Hibbitt to release their second album, Frontiers.
