Songs he penned for the band that became hits encompass "Bichos Escrotos," created with Arnaldo Antunes and Sérgio Britto, "Os Cegos do Castelo," and "Pra Dizer Adeus," written jointly with Tony Belloto. Additional recordings of his material appeared from Cidade Negra on "Onde Você Mora," ex-wife Marisa Monte with "Diariamente," Sandra de Sá and Cássia Eller on "Um Tiro no Coração," Eller on "E.C.T.," plus Jota Quest and Skank. The 1995 release of his debut solo album 12 de Janeiro coincided with the launch of Para Quando o Arco-Íris Encontrar o Pote de Ouro, which incorporated Barrett Martin of R.E.M. and formerly of Screaming Trees along with Alex Veley of Maktub for both the sessions and the ensuing Brazilian tour.
