Nessi

Nessi, a singer and songwriter now based in Berlin, weaves country-tinged pop with atmospheric electronics throughout her refined sonic palette. At nineteen she departed her native Hamburg for the German capital, where she launched her creative process under the sway of the National, Matt Berninger, and Elliott Smith. Her initial output remained entirely solo, pairing acoustic-guitar strumming with her expressive voice on the self-released 2011 EP Escapism, a recording that showcased her unpolished skill and compositional gift. After extensive touring of that material she entered the studio with friends Andrew Tyler and Christian Wieland to capture the 2014 EP Twentythreeyears, a project that marked a clear turn toward richer, pop-focused arrangements. From there she began work on her first full-length effort, Rolling with the Punches, issued in early 2015.
