Biography
Numa Norderhaug performs under the professional name Numa Edema as a Norwegian singer and songwriter drawing from soul, folk, and the classic singer/songwriter lineage. Born to Norwegian and Nigerian parents who themselves worked as musicians and writers, he spent his childhood in Oslo within a household that actively encouraged artistic pursuits. His first single, “Delta Man,” appeared in 2015 and earned airplay on NRK radio, which in turn secured him an appearance on the television program Good Morning Norway. Early the following year the Norwegian independent label Winglyd issued his debut full-length album, The Hourglass. During 2017 Edema was asked to support Stephen Stills and Judy Collins on multiple American dates of their tour promoting their inaugural joint record. That September the same album reached U.S. stores through Collins’s Wildflower Records, an imprint of Cleopatra.
