London-based vocalist and songwriter Odeal crafts tracks that blend Afrobeat rhythms with plush R&B textures through his smooth, unhurried delivery and layered arrangements. His work draws worldwide influences into pop-structured songs while threading Nigerian alté elements through the polished sound of his 2023 release Thoughts I Never Said. That same year he issued the single “Gaslight 101” and the EP Sunday at Zuri’s.

Growing up, he relocated across Germany, Spain, Nigeria, and the U.K., absorbing Nigerian musical traditions most deeply during his time at boarding school in that country. After settling back in London in 2017 he began issuing his own material, merging the Afrobeat, reggae, and hip-hop hybrid he had encountered in Nigeria with his personal vocal approach and R&B sensibilities. The independently released EPs New Time in 2017 and Pragma in 2018 showcased this wide-ranging approach, incorporating nocturnal R&B, rap, reggaeton, and additional flavors. Steady single output led to fuller projects such as the 2020 EP OVMBR: Roses and the 2023 mixtape-length Thoughts I Never Said, followed in 2024 by “Gaslight 101” and Sunday at Zuri’s.
