Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist Anthony Vasquez, performing under the name Otis Kane, began his career operating behind the console as a producer before emerging as a vocalist in the R&B realm. His signature approach blends funk, organic textures, and meticulous detail refined through extensive studio experience. Early singles, the 2021 debut album Purple BLUE, the EP November Love Notes, and later standalone releases all helped solidify this aesthetic.

Vasquez first developed a passion for music during childhood and began performing vocally at age 10. A football coach with industry ties later secured studio access that sparked his interest in production. Although he initially enrolled as a music major, he left school upon receiving an opportunity to work alongside Nellee Hooper, whose credits include Soul II Soul, Björk, and No Doubt. Building connections from that experience, Vasquez joined Lolene’s live band as keyboardist. Following a period of touring, he launched his own facility, STRZ Enterprises, which hosted sessions for artists such as Nick Jonas, Wiz Khalifa, and Julia Michaels. Eventually he transferred ownership of the studio to concentrate exclusively on production, simultaneously resuming vocal work under the Otis Kane moniker. His initial tracks appeared in 2019, with both previously issued and unreleased material collected on the EPs Therapy in 2020 and Growing Pains in 2021.

The full-length Purple BLUE arrived in June 2021 and featured guest contributions from Chloe Angelides and KALLITECHNIS. Several months afterward, November Love Notes supplied seven additional songs cut from comparable cloth, though this project placed greater emphasis on external voices, including India Shawn, Krysten Simone, and another appearance by KALLITECHNIS. In the ensuing years Kane continued issuing independent singles, among them the 2022 track “Free” and the 2023 collaboration “Good Life” with CLAY.
