Out Of Eden

Gospel soul-sisters in more than just name, Lisa, Andrea and Joy Kimmey rose to prominence in the '90s as the first Christian Contemporary act to reclaim soul/R&B territory from secular artists. The three Kimmey siblings, born in Richmond, VA, between 1975 and 1980, spent their formative years onstage as opening performers for their mother, a classical pianist. Joey Elwood and Todd Collins signed Out of Eden to the Gotee label, resulting in the 1994 release of the group's debut album Lovin' the Day. That project registered as a Christian Contemporary success and paved the way for the strong reception of the Kimmeys' follow-up, 1996's More than You Know; No Turning Back arrived in 1999.
