After building a solid foundation through academic studies in music, Chilean singer-songwriter Pablo Herrera entered the entertainment industry. His first release, the independent album Despertar, appeared in 1983. Strong sales of that project secured a recording contract that yielded Pablo Herrera in 1986 and Rastros in 1988, the latter featuring the hit single "Entre Dos Paredes" at a moment when stations actively sought new domestic talent. He joined Polygram in 1991 and cut Más Arriba, which spawned the successes "Amor Amor" and the title track. Appearances at the Viña del Mar and OTI Festivals preceded his relocation to the United States, where he prepared the subsequent album Alto Al Fuego. Three years afterward he partnered with Ricardo Feghali, keyboardist from Roupa Nova, to produce Hasta La Luna, tracking the sessions in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from July through August 1996. In summer 1997 Pablo Herrera began an extensive tour of Chile alongside Keko Yunge and Alberto Plaza.
