Chilean hard rock outfit Sinergia emerged during the mid-1990s and rapidly secured a position at the forefront of South America's experimental contemporary scene. By blending funk, metal, Pájaro, electronic textures and additional influences, the ensemble drew attention from experimental listeners across the globe. Vocalist Rodrigo Osorio, guitarist Pedro Pedrales, bassist Alexis González, drummer Bruno Godoy and DJs Paul Eberhard and Jaime García Silva first united in the mid-1990s and tracked their initial demo in 1998. That recording, Apoyando La Demencia, secured the opportunity to produce their self-titled full-length debut, Sinergia. Shortly afterward the singles and videos “Mujer Robusta” and “ChileRobot” brought the band widespread recognition inside Chile. While maintaining an active regional touring schedule, the musicians simultaneously developed the songs that would form their second album. Procésalo Todo appeared in 2004 and achieved commercial traction thanks to the hit single “Mi Señora,” extending the group’s renown well beyond Chile’s borders. With an expanding audience throughout the Spanish-speaking world, anticipation surrounded the third album, Delirio. Issued in 2007, the release yielded the band’s most successful single to date, “Te Enojai por Todo.” The track not only dominated airplay charts but also captured Chile’s “Best Video of the Year” award. That August Sinergia marked its fifteenth anniversary with a performance at the historic Teatro Teletón, footage of which became the group’s first DVD. Delirio continued to register strongly on Latin American charts through 2008, confirming Sinergia’s status as one of the continent’s most prominent musical exports.
