Biography
Makiza, the Chilean urban hip-hop act, entered the domestic spotlight through its independently crafted 1998 album Vida Salvaje. Formed the previous year by Ana María Tijoux (aka Anita), Cristian Bórquez (Seo2), Gastón Gabarró (Cenzi), and Jean Paul Hourton (DJ Squat), the group soon secured a Sony Music contract that yielded the 1999 release Aerolíneas Makiza and its hit single "La Rosa de los Vientos."
