Peach PRC

Australian pop singer Shaylee Jade Curnow rose from social-media prominence to mainstream pop success under the professional alias Peach PRC, beginning with her major-label debut single “Josh” in 2021. Two years afterward she issued her first EP, Manic Dream Pixie, which topped the ARIA Albums Chart.

A native of Adelaide, Curnow derived her stage name from Nintendo’s Princess Peach Toadstool character in the Mario Brothers franchise together with the abbreviation PRC for porcelain. She performed under the complete name Peach Porcelain during her time as a stripper before shortening the suffix for online use. Her social-media presence, centered on candid accounts of mental illness and substance abuse, attracted a sizable audience that expanded further once she issued the independent singles “Blondes” and “Colourblind.” In 2021 she signed with Island Records in Australia and Republic Records in the United States, then released the upbeat bubblegum-pop hit “Josh,” written about an ex-boyfriend seeking reconciliation. Additional charting tracks such as “Heavy” and “Forever Drunk” appeared soon after. The year 2023 brought her debut EP, Manic Dream Pixie, which featured the streaming successes “F U Goodbye” and “Perfect for You.”
