Biography
Kenneth "Poppa LQ" Green, the South Central rapper, first entered the rap scene with the 1989 Island Records release of his debut CD Notes of a Native Son and followed it with the solo disc Your Entertainment My Reality in 1995. Away from his own projects he connected with established names such as Tech N9ne, Yukmouth, and Regime colleague Mad Maxx along with numerous other rap figures. His precise lyrics and fluid delivery earned enough notice to secure guest spots on recordings by Kurupt and Snoop. He also held membership in the West Coast outfits M.O.B. and DBA, a crew that included Cool Nutz and producer Bosko and that issued the 1999 Universal album Doing Business As.... The DBA single "Fa Sheisty Cats" united WC and Kurupt with Poppa LQ, their combined efforts yielding an underground hit. He additionally ran his own Po' No Mo' Entertainment imprint.
