Formed by musicians drawn from Creed, Alter Bridge, Tremonti, and Sevendust, Projected surfaced in 2012 and established a musical approach grounded in hard rock, post-grunge, and alternative metal. Across the years since its launch the group has delivered three studio albums: Human in 2012, Ignite My Insanity in 2017, and Hypoxia in 2022.

The lineup comprises singer and guitarist John Connolly, guitarist Eric Friedman, bassist Vinnie Hornsby, and drummer Scott Phillips. Projected originated as an outlet allowing the participants to enter the studio and lay down tracks free from label-imposed schedules or production budgets. Their driving, guitar-heavy approach, supported by Connolly’s soaring vocals, reflects the veterans’ accumulated time in rock & roll, producing material that echoes earlier efforts yet avoids replicating their primary projects. The debut arrived in 2012 as Human on Connolly’s own Yaya Papu imprint. Rat Pak Records followed with the second album, Ignite My Insanity, in June 2017, marking the first release by the band to reach the Billboard 200. Hypoxia, issued in 2022, presented a unified, memorable, and forceful collection that capitalized on every member’s strengths.
