Prospa

The electronic pair Harvey Blumler and Gosha Smith, operating as Prospa from their Leeds base, trace pathways through established house grooves and the high-energy textures of rave-era dance music. Rock held greater appeal for both during their early years, with Blumler gravitating toward drums and Smith toward guitar. Electronic production captured their attention in adolescence, prompting Smith to develop beats rooted in dubstep while Blumler concentrated on hip hop laced with jazz. Their routes converged in the early 2010s, leading them to collaborate as producers from 2013 onward, initially exploring deep house prior to embracing classic rave directions. The 2018 emergence of their breakthrough single "Prayer" contributed to the resurgence of Stress Records. Their debut EP, 2019's self-released Control the Party arrived the following year.
