Biography
Raimundo Amador, a Spanish contemporary flamenco guitarist whose father performed traditional music locally, first took to the streets of Sevilla at age 13 under the alias Sargento Platillo. He soon joined the Los Gitanillos project and then founded Veneno in 1977, resulting in a self-titled album issued by CBS. Linking up with his brother Rafael Amador gave rise to the flamenco outfit Pata Negra, which delivered four albums in total. Opting for a solo route, Raimundo Amador forwarded a demo to B.B. King and received an invitation to New York, where the pair performed tracks including "Bolleré" and "Ay Morena" soon afterward. The guitarist established Gerundina in 1995, captured En la Esquina de Las Vegas in 1997, and followed with Noches de Flamenco in 1998. Universal put out Un Okupa En Tu Corazón two years after those sessions.
