Biography
After the 1992 breakup of his pop/rock band Radio Futura, Spaniard Juan Perro—born Santiago Auserón—launched a solo career. That year the Spanish singer/songwriter issued the compilation Semilla del Son, drawn from his personal investigations into Afro-Cuban music. Santiago Auserón began performing across Spain under the Juan Perro name the following year. Recorded in La Havana, Cuba, his debut album appeared under the title Raíces del Viento. He also established NSL (Nueva Sociedad Lírica) to produce and promote releases by up-and-coming Latin artists.
