Rick Cua

Rick Cua played bass in the southern rock band the Outlaws from 1980 until 1982. For nearly two decades he has channeled his spiritual convictions into recorded music. Serving as vice-president of the creative department of EMI Christian Music publishing, he keeps fostering spiritual awareness through his songs. Though his early work sat firmly in hard rock, Cua’s output has gradually moved toward commercially-accessible pop-rock anthems. Christian songstress Angela recorded his tune “Young Boy, Young Girl,” which he co-wrote with Bob Halligan, Jr of Celtic pop-rock band Ceili Rain.

Cua has turned away multiple offers to return to secular music. He reportedly declined an invitation to join jazz-pop ensemble Spyro Gyra.
