After earning a psychology degree from the University of Havana, singer/songwriter Rita del Prado first explored singing through appearances at local student festivals. She subsequently performed alongside established artists such as Vicente Feliú, Eduardo Peralta, and Marta Campos. Drawing inspiration from children’s music, she released the album Maravilla Malabar in 1994, issued Casi lo Digo and Reunión de Magos in 1997, and contributed tracks to the 1998 compilation Antología de la Nueva Trova. Rita del Prado founded Movimiento por la Canción Infantil Latinoamericana y del Caribe, an organization devoted to promoting children’s songs throughout Latin America.
