Biography
Having previously worked as a saxophone studio musician in Los Angeles, Crutcher accompanied artists such as Lionel Richie and the Commodores in performances prior to relocating to Santa Fe, NM, where he cultivated an introspective musical approach of his own. The Sacred Sites series represents Crutcher's primary output, comprising concept albums that express his sonic interpretations of mystical sites. During composition, he travels to these historic places to capture ambient recordings, incorporating them into layered soundscapes featuring multiple instruments and synthesizers. Among the Sacred Sites releases are Machu Picchu Impressions, Chaco Canyon, Ocean Eclipse—which was captured during an eclipse in Mexico—and Serpent Mound, documented at the Adena Indian animal effigy from the first century B.C. located in Adams County, Ohio.
