Santino Surfers emerged from the vision of Danish guitarist, composer, and producer Jonas Krag. Across an extensive career he has performed as a supporting musician alongside American soul legends such as Womack & Womack as well as enduring Danish pop figures like Lis Sørensen and Sanne Salomonsen, while also contributing substantial work to film and television scores. The project’s predominantly instrumental style blends fluidly melodic, echo-laden guitars with keys, bass, and drums into a shifting, at times hazy texture that draws from soul, jazz, supple funk, and bright psychedelia, all enveloped in the atmospheric qualities of surf music. The resulting sound generates a consistently rhythmic, free-flowing mood that feels open, inviting, and unified. Several singles began appearing in 2018, starting with “Morning Lights” and “Slow River.” Two further tracks, “Sergio’s Theme” and “Sun Rise Swell,” surfaced in 2021. Throughout the following two years additional releases such as “Turtle Dance” and “Three Corners One View” arrived, with the majority of these tracks collected on the self-titled debut album issued by Music for Dreams in July 2023.
