A Los Angeles-based singer and songwriter, Sasha Sloan first gained notice by providing lead vocals on tracks for prominent electronic acts before launching her own catalog of electronically flavored indie pop in 2017. Three well-received EPs preceded her widely praised debut album, the candid Only Child, which arrived in 2020. On 2022’s I Blame the World she confronted themes of hopelessness and social tension, then further developed her approach with the spare and personal Me Again in 2024.

During 2017 she contributed vocals to singles and key cuts by King Henry, Kaskade, and ODESZA. She also took the lead on Kygo’s “This Town,” one of five tracks on the Stargazing EP that featured additional appearances by Justin Jesso and Selena Gomez. Late that year she issued her initial solo material, beginning with the moody, turbulent “Ready Yet” and, a month afterward, the introspective “Runaway,” a direct account of ending a long-term relationship. Further singles—“Fall,” “Normal,” and “Here”—paved the way for her first EP, Sad Girl, which came out in April 2018 via RCA Records. Two more tracks, “The Only” and “Faking It,” appeared later in the year and formed part of her second EP, Loser, released that November.

In 2019 she put out a third EP titled Self Portrait, collaborated with Kygo on “I’ll Wait,” and issued additional songs of her own, among them the King Henry-produced “Lie.” Her first full-length album, Only Child, followed in 2020. The next year she paired with Sam Hunt on the single “When Was It Over?,” after which she expanded her performing name to Sasha Alex Sloan. I Blame the World arrived in 2022, presenting an emotionally direct collection shaped by the despondency she experienced amid the COVID-19 pandemic. After parting ways with RCA the subsequent year, she released Me Again on her own in 2024, again addressing depression and despair.
