Emerging onto the charts with a debut album that reached the top spot, the Swedish dansband Scotts first gained prominence in 2008 during their participation in the reality series Dansbandskampen. The group, which originated in 1992 within Lidköping, Sweden, features members Henrik Strömberg handling vocals and guitar, Claes Linder on keyboards, Roberto Mårdstam playing bass, along with Per-Erik "Lillen" Tagesson on drums. Although active for an extended period prior, widespread recognition eluded them until their appearance as contestants on Dansbandskampen in 2008. Their strong performance on the program led to a runner-up finish, with Larz-Kristerz taking the top honor. Coinciding with the conclusion of the Dansbandskampen season, the band issued both the number-one album På Vårt Sätt (2008) and the single "Om Igen," which entered the Top 30. The year 2009 saw Scotts enter the Swedish Melodifestivalen competition via the track "Jag Tror På Oss," yet despite not securing victory in the event, their follow-up release Längtan (2009) also achieved chart-topping status.
