Biography
Scour came together in 2015 as an extreme metal supergroup whose members carry a blood-soaked history across the heaviest corners of the genre. Phil Anselmo of Pantera and Down joined forces with John Jarvis from Pig Destroyer and Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Derek Engemann of Cattle Decapitation, Chase Fraser formerly of Animosity and Decrepit Birth, and Jesse Schobel out of Strong Intention and Cast the Stone. The punishing mix of black metal, grindcore, and thrash first surfaced on the ferocious single "Dispatched." Their self-titled debut EP arrived in 2016 through Anselmo's Housecore label, with the full-length Red following in 2017.
