Caribbean-Canadian artist Skiifall fuses thoughtful storytelling with atmospheric beats drawn from dancehall, R&B, and drill. His first release, the 2020 single “Ting Tun Up,” gained strong traction in the U.K., after which he teamed up with BadBadNotGood, Charlotte Cardin, Obongjayar, and additional musicians. Subsequent projects include the genre-blurring 2023 EP Woiiyoie Vol. 2 - Intense City and the 2025 set Lovers Till I'm Gone, the latter reflecting a deeper embrace of classic reggae textures.

Born Shemar McKie in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, he absorbed dancehall, reggae, soca, and R&B during childhood. At eight he accompanied his mother to Montreal expecting a two-month visit that instead became a lasting move. While still a student he began producing music, cycling through trap and pop experiments before settling on his own approach. The ethereal, drill-tinged “Ting Tun Up” marked the first track he felt fully confident releasing under the Skiifall name; issued in 2020, it quickly became a U.K. hit, prompting British rapper Knucks to join him on “Ting Tun Up Part II.” Follow-up cuts “Bentayga Dust” and the EP Woiiyoie Tapes Vol. 1 arrived soon after.

He next linked with Toronto jazz-funk ensemble BadBadNotGood for “Break of Dawn.” In 2022 the more dancehall-rooted “Bloodclarrt Business” surfaced, and Skiifall appeared on Lil Silva’s “What If?” His second EP, Woiiyoie Vol. 2 - Intense City, arrived in 2023, folding drill, R&B, and Afrobeats together and featuring Charlotte Cardin alongside Obongjayar; the single “Left the Trenches” came next. Two years later Skiifall issued the reggae and lovers-rock project Lovers Till I'm Gone, which includes the Jorja Smith collaboration “Her World.”
