Slaughter to Prevail

Slaughter to Prevail operates as a deathcore trio spanning the globe, one that fuses punitive extreme metal with grindcore marked by blackened and groove-blasted textures. Their initial long-player, Chapters of Misery, appeared in 2017. The 2021 arrival of Kostolom, a release both dynamic and unrelenting that folded nu-metal components into their sound, allowed the group to broaden its audience.

The band formed in 2014 through the efforts of U.K.-based shredder Jack Simmons, Russian vocalist Alex Shikolai, and drummer Anton Poddyachy. Their debut EP, Chapters of Misery, surfaced in 2016 and accumulated extensive streams plus downloads on the strength of the punishing single "Hell." Vocals delivered in English and Russian helped their singular approach attract Sumerian Records, which promptly signed the act. An uncompromising full-length debut, Misery Sermon, emerged in 2017 and was followed in 2021 by the hard-hitting Kostolom, tinged with groove- and nu-metal.
