Emerging from Philadelphia’s thriving rock epicenter in 2006, Spark Is a Diamond fuses the kinetic drive of new wave dance rhythms with the aggression of punk, metal, and screamo. The group—vocalist Alison Bellavance, guitarist-vocalist Matt Boylan, and drummer Joe Crawford, all veterans of Fall River and Morning for the Masses—inked a deal with Pluto Records that yielded the 2008 release of their debut full-length, Try This on for Size.
