Biography
Originating in Berlin, Germany, the inventively titled extreme music quintet War from a Harlots Mouth unleashes an aggressive fusion of math metal, grindcore, and various unrelated styles while explicitly rejecting affiliation with any one musical category. The ensemble launched its career in 2005 by recording a split EP with Molotov Solution, completing multiple European tours alongside Dying Fetus, Cattle Decapitation, and Cephalic Carnage, then issuing its debut full-length CD, Transmetropolitan, in 2007. Shortly thereafter the band parted ways with vocalist Steffan and brought in Nico Webers of The Ocean as his replacement. After devoting the bulk of 2008 to live performances, the group returned to the studio and delivered its second album, In Shoals, in 2009. Maintaining the same rapid pace, the quintet issued MMX the next year.
