Biography
Emerging from Sydney, Australia in 2004, Sparkadia originated as a project led by vocalist Alex Burnett and drummer David Hall. The lineup later grew to include Tiffany Preece on guitars and vocals plus Nick Rabone on bass. Ark Records discovered the band in its formative stage and offered a contract shortly afterward. Once the demos began circulating, Sparkadia arranged a collaboration with British producer Ben Hiller. Their debut release, the Things Behind the Sun EP, generated enough momentum for opening dates with Bravery, Tegan and Sara, and Ben Lee, as well as a U.K. tour supporting Jimmy Eat World and the Thrills. Postcards, the group’s first album, appeared in 2008, climbed into the Top 25, and produced the hit single “Too Much to Do.”
