Stalking Gia crafts moody, electronic-tinged pop that probes desire, obsession, and the shifting boundaries separating fantasy from reality, all propelled by the polished rhythms of tracks such as the 2016 viral sensation “Second Nature,” the 2020 release “The Kindest Thing,” and 2022’s “Happy Birthday.”

Tiffany Giardina, the New York-based vocalist, composer, and performer who once appeared as a child in Broadway productions and TV advertisements, issued two earlier pop records under her birth name before launching the Stalking Gia project in 2014. That iteration drew visual cues from figures spanning Audrey Hepburn to David Bowie and adopted a sharper electro-pop approach reminiscent of Banks and Tove Lo. The sultry “Second Nature” initiated the sequence, accumulating millions of streams and later appearing as a sample in Blackbear’s “Wish U the Best” on his 2017 album Digital Druglord; further singles that delved into darker territory soon followed, among them 2017’s “Siren” plus the 2018 cuts “PTSD” and “Miracles,” the latter a joint effort with Blackbear.

Giardina joined Epic Records in 2020 and unveiled her first offering for the imprint, “The Kindest Thing,” that April; the number served as the opening track on her Season 1 EP. Subsequent releases such as “Worship” and “Saddest Happy Girl” appeared across the ensuing two years, culminating with “Happy Birthday” at the close of 2022.
