SVRCINA

Singer/songwriter SVRCINA blends introspective ballad work with exploratory electronic pop, drawing from the approaches of Sia and Ellie Goulding. After issuing early EPs, she reached a broader audience through her 2020 debut album, Elysian Fields.

Molly Svrcina entered the world in Detroit, Michigan, in 1996; performing under the name SVRCINA (“sur-cee-nah”), she participated in church choirs as a child and developed a deep interest in music by age eight. She began releasing material as Molly Hunt, then switched to her family surname after relocating to Nashville, securing management, and entering multiple co-writing sessions that produced a publishing contract in 2009 when she was thirteen. Over the following years she issued several acoustic-leaning pop ballads under the Hunt name before retiring that alias in 2013. That same year she posted SVRCINA videos that included a cover of Imagine Dragons’ “Bleeding Out” and the original holiday track “The Difference.” A guest spot on Built by Titan’s dance single “The Darkness” followed in 2014, and the EP Lover. Fighter. appeared in early 2016. An untitled EP surfaced in early 2018 and the Hearing Colour EP arrived the next year. Additional recognition came from co-writing credits on MOTi and Icona Pop’s “Sink Deeper” as well as Sj and Joakim Molitor’s “Live Without You,” both released in 2019. She also joined forces with Robin Schultz, Lecrae, Hulvey, and Tommee Profit. September 2020 brought her first full-length album, Elysian Fields, whose production team included Benjamin Backus, Aaron Chafin, Built by Titan, and additional contributors.
