Taliwhoah

Born Talitha Cross in London’s Tottenham district, Taliwhoah works as an R&B vocalist. Her upbringing took place inside a household steeped in music, where mother Toyin Adekale and father Slim Linton both enjoyed acclaim as reggae artists and where her aunt together with her godmother appeared alongside the R&B ensemble Boney M. Childhood years found her absorbed in music while creating independently, moving repeatedly between London and assorted U.S. cities for schooling and family matters. Back in London during 2014 she completed the EP Melodies and Madness, which surveyed several strands of her developing voice. In the years that followed she honed her craft, shaping original material that echoed elements of her music-saturated background while folding in contemporary rhythms, rich synth textures, and inviting samples to produce a singular blend of styles. Taliwhoah shifted her base from London to Los Angeles in 2017 and began putting out singles plus the New Wave Order, Vol. 1 EP issued on Rostrum Records.
