Biography
Tetrarch, a quartet hailing from Los Angeles, fuses the rhythmic emphasis of nu-metal with the crushing intensity of metalcore, crafting a heavy sound that remains both ferocious and tuneful while nodding to earlier acts like Metallica, Trivium, Lamb of God, and Korn. The group came together during the 2000s and gained underground traction in the following decade through their album Freak before achieving wider recognition via the single "I'm Not Right," featured on the major-label release Unstable in 2021.
Diamond Rowe on lead guitar and vocalist Josh Fore started the band in Atlanta, after which personnel shifts led to the addition of bassist Ryan Lerner and drummer Ruben Limas. In those formative years the quartet performed across the regional scene and issued independent EPs, including Pravda in 2008 and The Will to Fight in 2011; these recordings merged the catchy, groove-oriented approach of their nu-metal influences with the technical skill shaped by Rowe’s own guitar heroes Slash, Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield, and Dave Mustaine. Following the 2013 album Relentless, Tetrarch launched their first headlining tour. To broaden their audience they moved to Los Angeles in 2015 and prepared Freak, which Dave Otero—known for work with Cattle Decapitation and Allegaeon—produced. The 2017 record reached new listeners through tracks such as "Break the Trend" and "Pull the Trigger," a style that combined Slipknot’s raw force with Linkin Park’s fierce melodic edge. For the next project the band again collaborated with Otero on 2021’s Unstable, issued by Napalm, which contained the breakout single "I'm Not Right." Further U.S. Mainstream Rock chart entries with "You Never Listen" and "Sick of You" sustained momentum into 2022 amid continued touring.
In 2024 the group returned from the studio with the single "Live Not Fantasize," drawn from their third full-length album.
