Biography
Formed in 2005 and headquartered in Antwerp, the Belgian alternative rock outfit known as The Hickey Underworld consists of Younes Faltakh, Jonas Govaerts, Jimmy Wouters, and Georgios Tsakiridis. Their sound draws primary inspiration from the D.C. hardcore approach associated with Discord Records. Teaming with Naïve, the group issued its self-titled debut long-player in 2009; Das Pop handled production duties, and the record climbed to number three on the Belgian albums chart during its second week, securing an overall Top Five placement. Among its tracks sits the Top 20 single “Future Words.” Five years later the band returned with its sophomore effort, Ill.
