The Van Jets

Belgian quartet the Van Jets—comprising lead vocalist Johannes Verschaeve, guitarist Wolfgang Vanwymeersch, bassist Frederik Tempere, and drummer Michael Verschaeve—combine garage rock, pop, classic rock & roll, and glam rock. Victory at the 2004 Humo's Rock Rally contest led them to issue their opening EP, Belvedere Records Presents the Van Jets Soldiers, the following year and their first full-length effort, Electric Soldiers, in 2007. Shows at Rock Werchter and Pukkelpop helped establish their standing as a dynamic live act, after which they delivered sophomore album Cat Fit Fury! in 2010 and third studio effort Halo two years later. With producer Leo Abrahams and acclaimed mixing engineer Tchad Blake, the Van Jets moved deeper into synth pop on 2015's vibrant Welcome to Strange Paradise. Their fifth LP, 2017's Future Primitives, extended this bright, synth-oriented glam pop sound; the self-produced set was again mixed by Blake.
