School Is Cool

School Is Cool, the Belgian Baroque pop band whose sound draws from Arcade Fire and the Pixies, comprises Johannes Genard on lead vocals, Toon Van Baelen on bass, Andrew Van Ostade on glockenspiel, Matthias Dillen on drums, and Nele Paelinck on keyboards. The Antwerp-formed group claimed both the audience award at FrappantPOP—an initiative in their hometown to discover new talent—and victory in the prestigious Humo's Rock Rally Contest, which preceded the 2010 release of debut single "New Kids in Town." Das Pop's Reinhard Vanbergen produced the band's first album, Entropology, issued a year later.
