Zita Swoon

Originating from the creative vision of Stef Kamil Carlens, a co-founder of dEUS, the fluid Belgian indie rock collective Zita Swoon has expanded into a multimedia enterprise through explorations of dance, theater, and visual arts. Launched in 1993 as A Beatband, the group later had to abandon its follow-up name Moondog Jr. after a legal challenge from U.S. artist Louis T. Hardin. Seven studio albums by the band have drawn input from novelist Bart Van Lierde, Flowers for Breakfast's Tom Pintens, and dEUS violinist Klaas Janzoons, and the collective earned the designation Cultural Ambassador of Flanders in 1999.
