Yevgueni

Hailing from Belgium, the Flemish outfit Yevgueni secured their greatest commercial breakthrough when the 2009 album We Aijn Hier Nu Toch reached the top of the national charts. Klaas Delrue supplies vocals, guitar, and harp, Geert Noppe contributes vocals, Maarten van Mieghem covers bass, guitar, and vocals, Stef Vanstraelen handles drums and percussion, and Patrick Steenaerts plays guitar and mandolin. The band first appeared on record in 2005 with Kannibaal, issued by EMI, yet that debut only managed a modest peak at number fifty on the album chart. Their second effort, Aan de Arbeid, arrived in 2007 and demonstrated rising popularity by advancing to number thirteen. The third release, We Aijn Hier Nu Toch, proved even more successful two years later, claiming the number-one position.
