Biography
The Norwegian lo-fi post-rock outfit the Low Frequency in Stereo emerged in early 2001, its sound colored by echoes of Joy Division, Can, and the Sugarcubes. Per Steinar Lie on bass and vocals, Ørjan Haaland handling drums, organ, and vocals, Hanne Andersen contributing trumpet, vocals, and guitar, plus Njål Clementsen on guitar formed the core lineup. That same year the group issued the Moonlanding EP, followed in 2002 by a self-titled album on REC 90 Records. Travelling Ants Who Got Eaten by Moskus appeared in 2004, with the Astro Kopp EP arriving the next year. The 2006 release The Last Temptation of...The Low Frequency in Stereo was captured on analog equipment to preserve its lo-fi character, and Futuro came out in 2009.
