Biography
Emerging from the New England scene as an indie folk quintet, the Novel Ideas craft a rich fusion of pastoral rural country-folk and roots-based plaintive Americana that calls to mind Bon Iver, the Avett Brothers, and the Lumineers. The ensemble took shape in Newton, Massachusetts, built around the core contributions of Daniel Radin on guitar and vocals together with Danny Hoshino on pedal steel, guitar, and vocals, plus a rotating roster of supporting instrumentalists and singers. Their first independent long-player, Say Hello, appeared in 2008, while the self-released nine-track successor Home was captured inside a New Hampshire barn in 2012.
